UNNA - 4 SEASON  /  RED LABEL TENT

Hilleberg Unna Tent is Hilleberg's simplest solo tent!

The Unna is a fully free standing, very light solo tent that can be pitched anywhere, anytime, and it boasts an impressive amount of interior space.

  • Rocky shores,
  • Narrow ridge lines,
  • Dense forests

It is ideal for journeys in any season where low weight is a high priority, and where the terrain makes for tricky pitching conditions.

Rather than a vestibule, the Unna has a spacious interior that easily accommodates the occupant and gear – or, in a pinch, two people.  By disconnecting a corner of the inner tent, one can create a virtual vestibule and keep the inner tent dry while entering or exiting in rainy conditions.

Its dome design handles snow loading well, and its roominess and light weight lend themselves very well to mobile journeys, where you pitch your tent each day.

The Unna has become a favourite solo tent for paddle tourers, year ‘round backpackers, mountaineers, cycle tourers and casual campers alike.

Features of the Hilleberg Unna Tent

  • Tent Fabric and Poles:
    • Kerlon 1200 outer tent fabric and 9mm poles make for a very lightweight yet supremely stable tent.
  • 4-season construction: outer tent walls extend to the ground and mesh areas are backed with adjustable fabric panels.
  • The dome construction with two poles provides remarkable strength and generous head room while keeping the weight low.
  • The Soulo has plenty of room for one occupant and their gear.
  • Fully freestanding dome design requires no pegs for pitching, and the simple full sleeve and tensioner pole system make for quick, easy setup.
  • The single entrance/single vestibule configuration affords easy access as well as storage space.  If desired, a corner of the inner can be disconnected to create a "virtual" vestibule.
  • Inner Tent Door: Partial no-see-um mesh on inner tent door is covered by an adjustable, fabric panel for 4-season comfort.
  • Rollable Wall: Lower portion of the both front and rear walls can be rolled up for more venting options.
  • Guy Lines: Looped guy lines affixed to twin attachments on each side of each pole increase stability in poor conditions.
  • Bathtub Floor: High bathtub floor keeps out ground water.

  • Inner and Outer Tents
    • Linked but separable inner and outer tent for simultaneous pitching.
    • The inner tent can be replaced with a Mesh Inner tent -  (sold separately)
    • The outer and inner tents can be used separately.
    • Pitching the inner tent alone requires optional pole holders - (sold separately)
  • Tent Footprint: (Sold Separately)
    • An optional footprint covers the entire area of the outer tent, including the vestibule.
    • It connects directly to the tent and can be left attached during pitching.

It delivers, but damn is it expensive
This product mainly shines because everything available at a brick and mortar shop is terrible - at least for men. This is great stuff, great hold without being greasy or turning your hair into spikes. No pungent odors. It's noted that it includes pine and sandalwood oil. There's definitely some pine, not getting any sandalwood. Regardless, it isn't a strong scent and that's how it should be. The tin is almost exactly the size of a snuff can. Expensive. But you don't really use much of it at one time.

2 complaints, otherwise great
This is a mostly great product. I only have 2 complaints - it’s really difficult to wash out, and the price. In my experience shampoo alone will not wash it out at all. Two-in-one products don't work. I have to use: 1. a shampoo 2. a conditioner 3. a shampoo again 4. More conditioner It does a really great job compared to other clays. I have short somewhat thin hair and it provides volume. It gives me the hold. I need all day. It smells great and it’s easy to work with. I wish it was cheaper. I feel like I’m paying extra for a cool looking tin. All that being said, I will be repeat customer

Just Okay...
This is an okay product. It works well for the first hour or two but then makes my hair very greasy - it feels like I haven't washed it in weeks. It's fairly sticky, which is great, but again it only lasts 2-3 hours for me before making my hair greasy. It smells great - I'll give them that. I'm glad it works for others but it's just not right for me.

Clay-Like Texture, All-Day Control
When my go-to pomade was discontinued, I had to start the search all over again. After seeing several ads for Highland Glacial Hair Clay Pomade on social media, I decided to give it a try and ordered a tin. Right out of the can, you can tell this product is different. It’s very thick—almost like actual clay. At first, I wasn’t sure how it would work with my shorter hair. Pro tip: lightly wet your hands before working it in. Once you add a little moisture and warm it up between your fingers, it spreads much more easily and evenly. Applying it to damp hair makes styling smooth and straightforward. When first applied, the hold feels strong and structured. As the day goes on, it relaxes slightly but still keeps your hair in place without looking stiff or overly styled. I appreciate that it maintains shape while allowing a more natural finish as the hours pass. It is more expensive than some other options out there, but in my opinion, the performance justifies the price. For reference, my hair is short—slightly longer than a typical military regulation cut—so this review reflects how it performs on shorter styles. Overall, I’m happy with the switch and would recommend Highland Glacial Hair Clay Pomade to anyone looking for a strong, workable hold with a natural feel.

Good Stuff!
Can’t say enough good things about Highland’s Glacial Clay Pomade! Don’t let your initial reaction to its appearance fool you. This stuff is great! In the tin, it’s fairly thick, but I put less than a dime size amount on my fingertips, place it in my palm, and then rub my palms together and it quickly turns into a very delicate gel that I work into my hair. Unlike other products that leave your hair crispy or with a sheen, this dries invisibly and allows you to continue to adjust and manage your hair throughout the day without looking like you have anything in at all. It’s so easy to use and keeps my hair looking great all day. Smells great too! I feel good knowing that I’m putting something on my body that’s 100% natural even down to the aluminum tin, which is fully recyclable. I’ve been using this along with Highland’s shampoo “The Wash“ for a few months now and I swear my hair has never been softer. I’m a big fan of this company and their products!
